HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Matazu Local Government Education Authority came into being as result of ties carving out of the Musawa Local Government in September, 1991. the LGEA inherited 31 Primary Schools from the Former Musawa Local Government with a total enrolment of 15,691 pupils that is 9,449 males and 6242 Females with 200 teaching and non teaching staff.
Today, the LGEA has 55 Primary Schools with enrolment of 32,490 Pupils that is 13,349 females and 19,779, males. The LGEA has staff strength of 590 teachers majority of them are qualified teachers and 110 non teaching staff. The LGEA posses three (3) Vehicles for administrative use, among them is one brand new car donated by the Local Government Chairman.
